Jose Carrasquillo, the "person of interest" in the rape of an 11-year-old girl, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon, police confirmed.
Police grabbed Carrasquillo at Front and Clearfield Streets in Kensington. He was taken to Temple University Hospital with unspecified injuries suffered after being beaten by members of the neighborhood near where the rape happened.
Carrasquillo was able to walk into the hospital with the assistance of officers. He was in critical condition with bumps on his head, said Deputy Commissioner Thomas Wright.
Police were determined to catch the person responsible for viciously raping and traumatizing an 11-year old girl on her way to school Monday, leaving her bleeding and crying on the sidewalk.
"It's about as bad as you get," Capt. John Darby said.
Carrasquillo, 26, was named as a person of interest in this case Tuesday morning. He was described as a thin-built white Latino male who was about 5-foot-8-inches tall. He has a couple tattoos including an Asian symbol on left side of neck and a skull with a cross through a heart with "RIP" and "MOM" written on it.
Authorities zeroed in on the suspect because there was physical evidence linking Carrasquillo to the crime scene.
Carrasquillo has a long criminal history including an attempted rape charge that was thrown out in 2002. He was convicted of 17 other prior charges including drug possession, assault and driving under the influence, according to court records.
He is wanted for contempt of court on an unrelated summary offense. There is currently no arrest warrant for him for the assault of the girl. He is only considered a "person of interest" in the case.
Officials were happy to see Carrasquillo in custody.
"It's good to have him off the street. People can take a sigh of relief," said Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey

Ya know...Im trying 2 get used 2 this blogger thing. I have and still have other sites I belong 2 i am a pro at. I am also very computer savvy, hell I am a project manager of a company that designs websites..I have been visiting pages, seeing the kool backgrounds etc.. I see Im gonna have 2 read the tutorial. 

Its also hard 2 make friends here :::sigh::: I see some ppl u can follow and some u can add as a friend, but u cant do both? LMAO bare with me..Ill get used 2 this eventually

Radio talk-show host, Dave Lenihan said a racial slur by "accident" about Condoleezza Rice. Of course, he apologized, but was still fired by the station, KTRS' president, Tim Dorsey.
"...She's African American which would B kind of a big coon. A big coon...Oh my GOD! I am totally, totally, totally, totally sorry 4 that..." That is the very comment that got Dave in trouble. He claims he meant 2 say, "corp". The only thing 2 do at that point was fire him..he was only at the station 2 weeks!!
